A Very Sad Day

Today we had to say goodbye to Noonoo aka Gr Ch Siarung Thefutureisorange.  the past few weeks his red and white blood cell count had been very low and he was unable to undergo his chemo.  All his lymph nodes had come back up and there was no other decision we could make.  We knew this was a particularly aggressive form of lymphosarcoma and it would only be a temporary solution.  I had hoped that he would see more sunny summer days but that was not to be.  His swallowing and breathing was going to be compromised so he was gently put to sleep in my arms and I am devastated he was only seven and the son of my late UK & IGr Ch Keelokan Kyle and my IGr Ch Shadowsquad Stardust.

A report from Mr John Harrison from the Siamese Cat Society Show on 3/7/2010

AC Oriental Grand Champion Male
Imp Gr Ch : Linton’s GR CH SIARUNG THEFUTUREISORANGE   37fn  M   02-08-08
A very elegant, though not the butchest, lad of overall very pleasing Oriental type. Head of good shape and correct type. Large well set ears of good shape; good top of head. Good even profile, firm chin, even bite. Slight muzzle pinch detracts from otherwise good lines to wedge. Eyes a little large, very good shape and set, grape green in colour. Very elegant neck. Well balanced body of excellent Oriental type, very elegant and fine boned. Legs of good length with very neat paws. Tail well tapered, needing just a little length for perfection. This lad has perfect coat length and texture – it simply could not be improved -  short, close lying, and the most wonderful texture.  I had a query over the colour, because my initial thought was that he looked rather cream, however I took him to a window and it was obvious that he is a very good Apricot colour.  Dorsal area is solid, with some slight marking to the flanks.  I was very impressed with this lad, certainly well worthy of the Imperial.   Above all this lad had a most wonderful temperament and thoroughly enjoyed the attention, shown in excellent condition.

Well yesterday we went to our first show in four months the Shorthair Cat Club of Scotland.
UK IGr Ch Tina Antariys gained her 7th Olympian Certificate.
IGr Ch Gandhi Arkinor just out for an airing unexpectedly gained his 2nd Reserve Olympian Certificate, he was also BOB (over Tina??? fickle judge who didn't rate him before). Then Mrs Kilby placed him first out of a class of 9 (what's that about?)
Ch Siarung Izzy Azalea (Gandhi's daughter) gained her second Grand CC.
The baby of the bunch Agubamka Xenadia at her first show was 1st and BOB and first in all side classes apart from one where she was third out of six. ( I did expect it though as the person appears to be anti import).

It Never Rains but it Pours

Monday/Tuesday we had a bit of a horrible 48 hours. For the last week or so I've had a horrible guy feeling that something wasn't quite right with X-Clusive as his walk just didn't look right. Anyway on Monday my vet checked him all over and found nothing significant. I came home and decided to have a full set of X-ray's and this was carried out Tuesday. Nothing wrong there though his hip sockets look a bit shallow. Then Colin my vet discovered that he had a tear in his diaphragm and he's liver had moved into that tear.
This now makes sense as a few weeks ago the boys were obviously larking about and pulled the heated bed over and it had landed on the floor.
Anyway it looks like X-Clusive got hit by the bed though at the time all seemed okay. Immediately he had surgery to repair the tear and as you can see from this picture taken the next day he is looking well.
He is confined to barracks and has strategically placed steps up so he doesn't jump too far.

Well Gr Ch Siarung Thefutureisorange has come to the end of his first bout of chemotherapy.  He is now in remission and has two weeks off and then we decide whether to continue or not.
my vet confirmed if we had not taken this action he would probably not be here.

Last night Noonoo went in to have his bloods done ready for an early start today. It was good news they were fine so he was able to have his cyclosporine Ali go with a drip to flush it through. Our vet is pleased and can believe how much the lymp nodes have gone down and recons I have definately bought him some time. Noonoo is full of bounce and celebrated coming home with a good scratch in the scratcher.

31/12/15 Well within the same week as loosing Siarung Caramel Latte and I have just gone to see Gr Ch Siarung Thefutureisorangeto aka Noonoo find he has a very swollen neck gland.
I whipped him of to our vets the next morning and he had an antibiotic and steroid but the gland has not gone down.
4/1/2016 so a week later we have had a biopsy done as we suspect lymphosrcoma.
12/1/2016 Noonoo has started on Chemotherapy in consultation with the Dick Vet, it is being done at our local Veterinary practice.

Picture
This is Noonoo pictured just after his chemo on Tuesday and he has taken it well he is eating and drinking fine and seems quite happy to date.
I have just had a phone call from my vet and the final findings are in from the biopsy and unfortunately it is a high grade and aggressive lymphosarcoma so we can only hope that this treatment makes life comfortable for him.  it would be nice for him to have the summer with us, we can only hope.
